B Braysher Optometrists, Blaydon on Tyne
Eye Examinations by experienced optometrists

Many people are entitled to regular eye tests paid for by the NHS, this includes everyone over the age of 60 and under the age of 16 (or under 19 if you are in full time education). There are several other categories, please contact us for more details.

Digital Retinal Photography

Retinal photography can enable eye abnormalities to be detected at an early stage. We also carry out diabetic retinal screening for NHS Newcastle Gateshead Clinical Commissioning Group

Contact Lens Fitting

We fit most types of contact lenses. Contact lenses can be successful for almost all prescriptions and can be suitable for patients of all ages. Please contact the practice for more information or to book a consultation.

Spectacle Dispensing

Our friendly, knowledgeable assistants will advise you on the most suitable lenses and frames for your prescription - and your budget. Our prices are competitive, and we stock a wide range of frames. Our designer frames include RayBan, Armani, Murano, Morgan and Elle; but we also have plenty of budget frames to choose from. Traditional or modern, teenage or mature, plastic or metal, lightweight rimless and titanium - there is something for everyone.

Children’s Eye Examinations

We love seeing children in the practice. All children should have an eye examination before they start school, with regular re-tests as their eyes develop. Most children enjoy coming to see their optician.

Domiciliary Eyecare

Patients over the age of 60 who are unable to attend the practice due to ill health are entitled to an eye examination at home paid for by the NHS.
